Our History
The Chippewa Valley Youth Choirs started with one girl choir in 1995. By 1998, another girl choir was added, and a second director was added in 2000. The Eau Claire Boy Choir joined the organization in 2002. In 2004, the third girl choir was added. After a hiatus, the Chippewa Valley Youth Chorus was revived through the Eau Claire Music School in 2015. The group continued to expand until COVID hit in Spring 2020.
We are excited the Chippewa Valley Youth Choirs are singing again and now affiliated with the University of Wisconsin - Eau Claire under the direction of Laura Dunbar as of the 2021 - 2022 academic year. The hope is to expand the program so that we can encourage Chippewa Valley youth of all ages to sing joyfully.

What We Sing
Repertoire for all groups consists of developmentally appropriate literature including unison, two, three, and four part music including traditional folk songs, canons, and contemporary choral selections. Rehearsal time is spent working on healthy voice production, reading notation, and choral blend.
